“Please Me” – Cardi B & Bruno Mars

Here’s the thing: the song is playing it safe and it’s gonna be on the radio a lot and we’re all gonna hear it. Bruno Mars fucking killed it. Pop music needs more chords, more throwback and more fun. But it sounds like someone in the studio had to wake Cardi B up from a nap and push her in the booth… the lack of energy from her. It sounds like she wrote some lyrics but forgot them when the beat kicked on so she just made up some bars and looked wide-eyed through the glass at the engineer like, “Was that okurrr?” and the poor chump gave her the thumbs up because their boss & Offset were in the room. #issaight

“Do Not Disturb” – Mahalia

Slap of the week! For all you early 2000s R&B girl band fans, this is for sure going on your playlist. Unique voice, great late 80’s Soul 2 Soul kinda throwback beat. Good theme song for when you wanna mute someone. #issabop

“break up with your girlfriend” – Ariana Grande

We get that every song can’t be “thank u, next” but home-wrecking isn’t cute. We don’t want to be mindlessly singing along to this bad karma flop. There are so many things she could sing about, and putting women against women doesn’t need to be one of them. All for having fun, but this won’t have the staying power of her other hits. #issaflop
