We loved the 90’s. We wanna go back. We also loved the original version of this song. 100% a bop and 100% pure CXCX. This stripped down version hits the spot. It goes to show how strong the writing is without all the bells and whistles of production. Is this our first double bop? DB? Play this when you’re smoking out on the penthouse patio of the Sunset Tower Hotel reflecting on your life. #issabop
Changing up the snare hits in the chorus, adding a little more production, and a feature that neither adds nor takes away from the magic of the song… this crosses into dangerous territory when labels are more interested in lifespan than integrity. What’s wrong with something just being great on its own? An analytical analysis from us to our boppers. As a remix, we’re flopping this. #issaflop
Our favorite New Zealand siblings dropped a lustrous pop song, the third single released off their ‘Don’t Feed The Pop Monster’ album which drops next month. Sounds recycled but in a good helping the environment way. Like we just stopped a baby seal from swallowing a plastic bag from the dollar store. #issabop
We like this. It’s Kehlani doing what Kehlani does: serving us melodies, harmonies, and a relatable subject matter. Ty Dolla $ign is always a welcome addition. But we’re still waiting for her to make a bold breakout move that defines her perspective as an artist. This doesn’t really drive us anywhere. Her ‘You Should Be Here’ EP felt like such a movement. #issaight
We like this instrumental! Could be a good part of a homework/chill/study playlist. Reminds you of that one girl Emily you know. She’s cool, fun and you always have a good time with her. You could like eat cookies or go to the beach, or not eat cookies and stay home watching reruns of Friends and she will still be fun and chill. We love Emily. #issabop
There’s something so soothing and relaxing about this song. It’s a nice vibe but we feel it’s lacking. If we were listening amid a family reunion, this song has a nice background vibe. Maybe it can be ambient without being listened to. Make of it what you will, a good background song. #issaight
This sounds like a B-level Kendrick Lamar, but we’re into it. If this came on at a party we wouldn’t leave. #issaight
